LAHORE, PAKISTAN – In a major counter-terrorism operation, Pakistan's Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) announced on Monday the arrest of 12 suspected terrorists allegedly planning large-scale attacks across multiple cities in Punjab province.
Key Details of the Operation:
Arrests: 12 individuals were detained in coordinated raids in Lahore and Faisalabad.
Allegations: Authorities accuse the suspects of being part of a network, identified as 'Fitna al-Hindustan', and claim the plot was funded and directed by India's Research & Analysis Wing (RAW).
Seized Materials: Raids uncovered a significant cache, including IED bombs, explosives, detonators, weapons, cash, and photographs of potential targets.
Prevented Threat: The CTD stated the operation successfully averted "large-scale" terror operations planned for various urban centers in Punjab.
Identified Suspects: According to a CTD spokesperson and reports from The Khorasan Diary, those arrested from Lahore include Sukhdeep Singh, Azmat, Faizan, Nabeel, Abrar, Usman, and Sarfaraz. One suspect, Danish, was arrested from Faisalabad.
Ongoing Investigation: Cases have been registered, and a deeper probe is underway. Investigators are focusing on tracing the financial trail and identifying any remaining accomplices.
